Darien, December 4, 2017. The Friends of Gorham’s Pond (FOGP) announced today that it will sponsor the first ever Darien Christmas Caroling Sing-Along, to take place on Rings End Bridge on Sunday evening December 17 at 5:00 pm. Carolers of all ages will be welcome from all over Darien to come and join in this inaugural event.

Darien First Selectman Jayme Stevenson said: “I hope all town residents will step back in time with us to celebrate the beauty and magic of Darien’s holiday season with caroling and good cheer at the iconic Rings End Bridge. Coming together as a community and raising our voices with joy for our everyday blessings is sure to become a treasured Darien tradition.”

Carolers are encouraged to park on Harbor Road or at Pear Tree Point School and walk to Rings End Bridge. A lyric booklet of the carols will be provided and Holiday refreshments will be offered to the carolers.

The Friends of Gorham’s Pond is sponsoring this event to offer all Town residents the opportunity to have a meaningful Holiday experience in the beautiful and historic cradle of Darien. The Gorham’s Pond area was settled in 1640, providing settlers and Indians alike a bountiful, temperate harbor for trade and farming.

“As we approach this Holiday season, FOGP wanted to provide all our neighbors with an opportunity to experience the joy and community of caroling in this exquisite and natural masterpiece of nature. Together, we can begin a new and meaningful Holiday tradition for our entire community,” said FOGP President Lucia Zachowski

To ensure safety, Police will close the north lane of Rings End Bridge for use by the carolers. The south lane of the bridge will remain open to traffic for emergency vehicles.
